time for change....

Honestly, I seriously thought about closing my blog. My life is one ball of crazy with a sprinkle of redonkulous.
I still teach- it has moments of pure wonderful bliss that I truly love, and then days where the rules, mandates, data, testing, and poo-poo hits in you square in the nuggets. I take it in stride, not to get overwhelmed with the topics that I can't change, and focus on my teaching and my students.
I love my 5th grade class. They are wonderfully wonderful. If you would have asked that for the past two years I honestly couldn't have said that and felt good about myself. It is pretty good to feel good about a classroom again. We are accomplishing some wonderful things that are larger than any mandated test, or data sheet, or DIBEL. They are thinking- imagine that. They are discussing, debating, creating, writing, responding, and everything that students need to do to grow into wonderful young adults who know that they are practicing for more than a test- they are practicing for life.
Whew! Update complete! With that being said, I have taken been thinking about me. Haven't been very impressed with this ol' self lately. I have gotten away from all the things I love and all the things I want to do. I started a list and have decided that this old bag needs to get the molasses out! So, I have decided that this blog will be going under some change.
I want to document this change, but keep in mind that I am and will always be a teacher- it is who I am! I will just post some other bits about my outside teaching world as well.
I am excited- hopefully you will be too!
